what @bbgeek17 suggested should have been the first thing Veeam support instruct you to do. That kind of experience with their support (and other things) have led me to abandon using Veeam with PVE.
Hi @nleistad,
Confidently attributing the issue to NFS, QCOW, ZFS, network, or any other component requires proper analysis. This typically includes log review, reproducible testing, and potentially network trace reading.
There are known edge...
UPDATE1:
I can confirm that basically the same behavior can be observed when using Intel Xeon 3rd Generation - released in 2Q 2021. So far I found the most significant implication of using(hv-passthrough flag) is not being able to use Live...
it works. Windows can run on top of kvm/openvmm - openvmm provides hyper-v devices directly.
I also created a small web panel running on proxmox. performance on my old cpu is basically the same as with qemu/cpu=host
no virtio drivers needed.
Its...
I modified the openvmm vnc server, so it can work now with noVNC.
Can someone try performance on a modern CPU ?
you can find all the code on : https://github.com/bitranox/proxmox_openvmm
good progress on the openvmm integration into proxmox :
- vnc server extended on Microsoft OpenVMM, so it supports noVNC now : https://github.com/microsoft/openvmm/pull/3197
- PID option added, a precondition to make VM status visible in the...
What are you defining as "using" for the 2.82 GB?
PVE will show the total used by the VM. If you've assigned 84 GB the VM could use that for caching, ARC, lots of things. It could use it then stop using it.
There are several calculators online such as https://florian.ca/ceph-calculator/.
With 3 nodes and 1 off there is nowhere to replicate so yes you’d have 2 copies. If another OSD is then lost those PG would have only 1 copy and I/O would stop...
Please note that the need of ECC-RAM for ZFS is quite overblown:
https://jrs-s.net/2015/02/03/will-zfs-and-non-ecc-ram-kill-your-data/
This blog post is quite long (but still good and highly recommended!) reading, the most important point imho...
Hi everyone,
we are using Proxmox VE with Ceph and were wondering how much storage we should use from our available storage before ceph starts acting up.
Our Ceph Cluster consists of three nodes that each contribute a capacity of 27,94TB, so we...
Thanks, this confirms that indeed at the moment you don't have a widget file altered by a script, so everything should be ok. Now I know you already said this, but in the past we had some users here, who somehow forgot that they had something...
Hey,
This is actually pretty normal on Proxmox 9 (especially 9.1.7) and catches a lot of people off guard.
The high host RAM usage (~94GB out of 125) is what QEMU/KVM has reserved/allocated on the host side for your VMs — basically close to the...
Hello All,
I beleive this topic has been brought up before, I'm sure I have at least once.
The tracking center is useless... I say that because here I am 8 days into the month and there are 7 Million lines in the mail log and basically it times...
Just had this issue -- clean install. Downloaded the 9.1.1 ISO and wrote it to a USB drive. Whether booting using UEFI or BIOS, I get this message.
Just downloaded 9.0.1 ISO and wrote it to the same USB drive. It installed and made the drive...
