Hello everyone,
So this is a windows 10 VM with random freezes. Only stopping and startingt fixes it. This started to happen in the last 2 or 3 weeks. I have changed cpu type, raised memory and cores. Even changed the display options. Same...
Thanks, understood.
Maybe it should poll more often to get some useful informations.
We are evaluating to ditribute a big number of PVE with their local PBS, but we need to have, somewhere, an "god's eye" to check if everything is fine.
I will...
Hello,
Is it possible (I assume not), to add "comments" or tags of some sort to disks in the web UI?
The use case is a node with a few disks (by my standards, it's not a huge server by any means, but has 7+ physical disks in total), and some...
Hi Forum, Thread small update in case anyone else hits this topic. I just bumped into this / came here via google search.
Context in my case:
- 3 node proxmox with mostly local storage 'share nothing' storage pools
- one NFS storage pool...

We are having an issue where some Windows Server backups will not show the File Restore correctly on some partitions
This seems to be related to using the ntfs3 driver, as sometimes the partition will mount if you manually mount the backup...
Okay. That could be it.
From what I understand, it is simply not possible to disable the balancer only in the case of a broken OSD?
Can't I just adjust the balancer's date and time by setting a very low percentage per run? For example, with:

Hi
I was able to get new UEFI certificates to my Proxmox VM running Windows Server 2019 and i see Event ID 1799 = "Boot Manager signed with Windows UEFI CA 2023 was installed successfully". But I still see Event ID 1801. So I think something is...
Correct.
PVE webUI and ceph status will report that an OSD is DOWN and the Ceph status will be "WARN" as soon as any OSD is DOWN. There will be no email alerts, though. You'll have to monitor Ceph somehow or at least configure MGR alerts module...
I have somehow managed to get 3 duplicate entries for the pve-no-subscription repository. I can disable, but is there a way I can clean this up and remove them from the list all together? I tried removing the proxmox.source file it references...
Okay. So if I understand correctly, if I set my_osd_min_in_ratio to 1.01, my OSDs will never go OUT. Is that it?
I'll get an alert from Ceph if an OSD is faulty?
Because that's the minimum ratio of OSD's that will be kept IN no matter what, not the ratio that decides when to trigger a rebalance, which happens as soon as an OSD is marked OUT.
Hi Proxmox enthusiasts!
Plain iSCSI in Proxmox is still mostly manual: you either keep creating LUNs on the SAN for every VM disk, or you present one big shared LUN and put LVM or LVM-thin on top—fewer LUNs, but shared VG pain...
Its a trade off. You don't necessarily need PBS to do backups. But backing up to a NAS is generally slower and takes up more disk space than backing up to PBS. However, restoring from a NAS is much faster in my experience than restoring from PBS...
