Hi, sure, I can flash a stick and live boot into some distro. I'm not using grub anymore but systemd. Can you tell me exactly what to do or what I should search for?
Or do I "just" need to boot into the live distro, mount the ZFS and change the...
I see. so you really do have two independent iscsi hosts (targets.) There should not be any conflict between the two pools.
post logs (dmesg, iscsiadm -m session, lsblk, etc) for the host with the failure and we can go from there.
Hi Boerny41,
Would it be an option to netboot.xyz or a USB stick to boot a live distro and write a new GRUB? Take care of course to include ZFS if it does not come with the booted distro.
I have PBS running as a VM on Proxmox and it has been working fine, backing up all the VMs (including itself) until recently, where now it can't back itself up (log below). The other VMs still back up perfectly.
I started thinking, how can the...
Hi digamman,
Welcome to the forums!
That must have been quite a scare, good that your storage survived!
Some questions:
Why did you need to reinstall Proxmox after losing the network?
I guess your original install was on LVM on nvme0n1p3...
With a local ZFS setup, you can configure the internal hard drives into different RAID arrays—I’m aware of that.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t work with ZFS over iSCSI.
Regarding @alexskysilk’s questions:
My initial idea was to have each SAN with...
Hi Balcony7199,
Welcome to the forums!
What filesystem is your VM on, and what is the storage layout?
In the mean time, how pressing is the issue? Do you still have access to the VM, or is it locked in turned off state? Do you have a backup...
a SAN would be a shared device of some sort. when you say you have "two" SANs, do you mean you have two boxes serving independent iscsi luns, or two boxes in a failover capacity (meaning one set of luns?)
In either case, this becomes a simple...
Thank you for clarifying. There are many ZFS experts in this forum, I am not one of them. That said, I suspect that the ZFS/iSCSI plugin is sufficiently different from the Local ZFS plugin, where the ZFS replication is primarily integrated and...
A better option is to avoid the PERC HBA-mode drama and get a Dell HBA330. It's a true IT-mode storage controller based on the LSI3008 chip. Real cheap to get.
Just make sure to remove any existing virtual disks prior to use and flash to latest...
Nope, nothing similar I can report. For me the GUI is rock solid. Maybe you tried to change smth while the VM Is running and was only applied after VM reboot?
Or you accidentally reverted the settings somehow?
Have you also disabled ballooning...
Hi all,
Sorry for crossposting
My main container (mail, messaging, calendar, phone backup) is offline (and has been for some 10 hours) due to resizing the LV from 3,6 TB to 0,4 TB.
This is an LV on a thin pool; it has previously been filled...
Slight worry is setting in.
The transaction is still running. It put an exclusive lock on everything LVM, and also prevents the volume from being mounted read-only.
I never had trouble shrinking an LV before, but this is the first time it...
Hey guys, I was able to generate the SearXNG OCI container using your suggestions, however, when I run the container, I keep seeing the error:
0 added, 0 removed; done.
Running hooks in /etc/ca-certificates/update.d...
done.
[WARNING]...
Hello, I was trying to create a snapshot of my only vm on proxmox before trying to resize it since I accidentally gave it 3000gb instead of 300 but the snapshot duration time was taking a long time so I stopped it but saw the snapshot is still...

Hi @fiona and @gasherbrum - would you help a newbie? When I attempt
apt-get install qemu-server=9.1.5
I get "Version '9.1.5' for 'qemu-server' was not found. I can find older versions however.
Thanks so much!
