Its not a debian problem - its a hardware problem. This is not a NIC so it wont get recognized in "ip a". You connect it to a FC storage device like a Dell PowerVault ME5024 or something like that.

Ecorrect. the technology is simply different and not compatible. you either have fibre channel, or your have ethernet. you can not use a fibre channel card as nic. please use a search engine of your choice and search "ethernet vs fibre channel"
