You guys are going down the rabbit hole here...
Does this work with vSAN storage? I tried a few times, checked storage polices for encryption, etc but fails if i create a new VM on the hosts local storage it works.
Okay, great! That already rules out a lot of errors. You still might want to run a zpool scrub just in case, if you haven't already.
Oooooh boy. That's quite something right there. This may be the cause, but you'll have to do some digging...
What would be the difference security-wise? You will either have to open a port or go through a third-party server that your customers may or may not trust.
Either way support people will need root access.
I don't see a good reason to buy new for personal use. I wouldn't buy "rebranded" ones like the linked though. They have different firmware and SMART values. You can filter by new on eBay but I wouldn't necessarily trust them to be. As for where...
This thread at https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/enterprise-ssd-small-deals.48343 has a list of enterprise SSDs for sale.
Another option is getting a server that supports U.2/U.3 flash drives. They can be surprisingly cheaper...
I use this (iotop-c, actually, which has a convenient keyboard shortcut for it) all the time and it's in all my guests' kernel args. I wrote about it too.
So while, I agree this is a low power system, I find it a poor excuse to not work properly under "moderate load" (not allow me to login and interact with the OS installed on a separate HDD).
To further prove my point, the system has been...
Then I've read all the posts about disabling services, running log2ram, etc, and while those might be viable "fixes," they aren't a solution. I'd rather go after the solution and not start tinkering with alternatives ya know?
Dann...
And the plot thickens. I'm not familiar with U.2.
I'm running a supermicro chasis with Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2697 v4 @ 2.30GHz, 512GB RAM, 4 x CT2000BX500 on raidz1, 12TB HDD for backup.
I was hoping to build server, install proxmox, run...
This happens if you move a disk to a different storage via the GUI and do not select "delete source".
I would argue this is a bug in the GUI, but maybe there is some obscure reason it doesn't let you "cleanup" after.
Double post. Please refrain from supporting here but instead in the original Thread from OP here: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/hard-freeze-on-intel-n150-twin-lake-when-igpu-renderd128-is-active.178531/
Example of one of the VMs that keeps freezing..

I have the old Intel(R) Xeon E5-2696 v4 in my servers and all of them get the black screen at boot BUT, wait 5-7 minutes and they boot. Maybe it is the same for you that you have to wait a long time before the system boot? I have no idea what it...
Hi All.
Normally i just read these and they mainly cover my needs. Having some trouble finding info about my issue. So figured i would try.
I have a 10 node cluster with about 50 VMs running. All running Ubunutu 20.04 LTS. Recently upgraded...
