I believe @spirit has nailed the issue of RND4K Q32T1 performance:
Windows guest on Proxmox:
During the RND4K Q32T1 test, cpu went to 12% (100% of 1 core on a 8-vcpu)
Windows guest on Hyper-V Server:
During the RND4K Q32T1 test, CPU...
it depends on what you want pdm to do.
In essence, the pdm token for the pve cluster needs the same permissions for it's action as when you do it on pve directly.
e.g if you want to start/stop vms, the token needs the VM.PowerMgmt permissions...
What exactly are you asking? The read speeds would be affected by the ZFS read cache which is in RAM, writes would be affected by the fact you are mirroring, so it can only go as fast as the slowest drive can respond and that is based on an IOPS...
If you care about performance then don't use "host" with Windows 11 / Windows Server 2025 for now, try something like x86-64-v4. This will disable VBS inside Windows which should help a bit. You may want to use virtio-win-0.1.271 drivers, not...
Thank you, @spirit, for the valuable insights.
I'm doing some tests now. But I believe you’ve nailed the issue.
Please let's continue on https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/proxmox-x-hyper-v-storage-performance.177355/
I'll post the results there.
Hi everyone,
If this has already been answered elsewhere, apologies—I couldn’t find it.
I understand that VMs can stream backups directly to PBS storage without needing local space.
However, for LXC containers, it seems they require a local...
Its a shame that Citrix hasn't decided to do this. Proxmox makes this so incredibly easy to do with their API. Im just surprised that seeing the market, they havent tried SOME integration. Even Veeam has support for it now...
Exactly since the 80% means at least basic subscription. So you would need to:
- Live with the nag screen
- Pay for a basic subscription of PBS
- Don't maintain PBS from the PDM.
Imho a combination of basic subscription and removing PBS from...
@MarkusF I do not know if we have an integration yet, or if perhaps you now have the hardware on hand, but I am willing to give you and the team some time on my bare metal with SEV-SNP assuming our allocations are filled.
The same goes for...
Stimmt!
