Echoing reports here that the issue appears to be related to Kernel 6.17.2-1-pve. I did some tinkering last night and the PVE side appears to be fine on that Kernel, but the PBS side will cause the backups to fail. I test pinned 6.14.11-4-pve... -

Postgres containers need the password set via an environment variable if I remember correctly. If the password cannot be found they'll print a warning and then shut themselves off. Sadly we currently have no proper way of capturing that warning...
