What are you guys using for your CPU for windows 11 vms in proxmox?
My CPU is an Intel Xeon CPU E5-2698 v4 and isnt supported by microsoft for windows 11. I can alter the windows 11 ISO and get windows to install just fine. My CPU supports all...
This will still break at some later point (happened at several updates before) aka the next time something changes in one of the used subsystems (cgroups, lxc-container, kernel namespaces). Now if you are willing to troubleshoot such things and...
I feel like a fool for asking, I just installed FileZilla and pointed at the server and was able to authenticate and gain access to the root file system. I did no prior config to enable SFTP, I take it Prox Mox has that enabled by default?
This would be nice to have a way to clean up up a backup after it hits so many days old. I want to keep 5 days of backups but when I decom a server and delete it I want the last backup to fall off after 5 days.
I added an (cheap consumer TLC) to a HDD ZFS mirror (making it a 3-way mirror) and random reads improved at lot. I've been mixing drives in ZFS mirror using consumer and enterprise HDD, consumer SSD and enterprise SSD (with PLP) and it all worked...
This is just my personal understanding of software RAID. You can use different SSDs, but you need to make sure they are the same capacity. With HDDs I think its slightly more stringent you'll want to make sure they're the same capacity, same RPM...
Hi, I am attempting to migrate a bare metal server to Prox Mox. It's a Windows based server. I've already taken a snapshot of the original drives using disk2vhd and then converted them to qcow2 using qemu-img. My problem now is getting these...
Hey,
some guessing: KNET reports the data MTU, meaning after deduction of all required headers and padding.
When I look at my test cluster KNET reports 1397 as data MTU. This makes an overhead of 103 bytes. Maybe KNET does align the data at 64...
Thanks for your response. Okay. In this case, it would be an SSD for six HDDs.
The problem is that I can't currently modify the existing hardware in each server.
That is, a 750 GB SSD and six 2.2 TB drives.
And I'm concerned about SPOF using...
Hopefully you have more than a single corosync link.
A good read up on this and more: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Cluster_Manager#pvecm_cluster_network
Thank you for your reply. After further debugging, I discovered that an OpenStack node had taken the same IP address as a Proxmox node. This caused the other two servers to compete for master status. Additionally, Corosync traffic was running...

I was able to resolve this issue moving the chunks to my rpool in a temp folder. You can also mount an external drive and move the data there. I just used rpool because this system was remote.
mv "chunk" /rpool/ROOT/pbs-1/temp/
then in the...
I think I solved the problem. For further reference (and people how a really new): The native VLAN on the Port of the node has been Default. Although I used the overwrite function on the specific VM, due to the conectivity loss, that might not...
Do you still suffer from random reboots on your PVE? If not, what was your final solution?
I got now also random restarts with Proxmox VE environment v9.0.10 with kernel 6.14.11-3-pve.
