Hello, I have a server
XEON 2.20GHZ d-1520
32gb DDR4ECC
2 disks ssd 300gb and 2 disk 2 tb

I was thinking of using two SSD RAID 1 ZFS with partitions(3) SO, L2ARC, SIL and the other 2 drives RAID 1 ZFS, for virtual machines.
having two ssd disks as primary.

this right or is there a better setting?

Thank you

Cheers

just a suggestion

mirror
/dev/sda <---2 tb drive
/dev/sdb <---2 tb drive
cache
/dev/sdc1 <--- 150gb out of 300
log
/dev/sdc2 <--- 150gb out of 300

This is because you only have 32 gb of ram and typically cache and log drive is x2 of the RAM size will be enough, having more will be a waste.
your /dev/sdd can be use for some db operation drives on the vm or...

Hi,
you need never more then 64GB as zil.

I would make it this way
install pve on zfs raid1 on the 2 TB
then parted the ssds in 32GB and the rest - 30%.

the two 32GB add as zill and the rest I would add ass l2arc.
the you can hold the hole metadata in l2arc and you have a very fast zill raid0 on zill.

a complete cache ssd is wast of resource
