zfs over iscsi NETAPP

I'm new to the whole zfs concept.
We already have an old NetAPP Storage which is working fine and we are using it with iscsi.
Due to ZFS benefits for replication and other stuffs, I was interested to setup zfs over iscsi with our Netapp.
Is it possible ?
because right now I don't have any idea to where should create the zfs pool for this kind of storage.

The ZFS pool has to be created on the storage, so it does not work with Netapp.

Alternatively, you can export a LUN to a server, create the ZFS pool there and export LUNs from there.

I guess that's the only possible way which does not make sense since we're adding a proxy here
