ZFS notifications

Hi there,
I have email notifications set up on the server using sendmail (e.g. updates or backups) . I'd like to have notifications about ZFS too.

I have edited /etc/zfs/zed.d/zed.rc to add my email address and changed the program from mail to sendmail. I then failed a drive on purpose using the "zpool offline poolname devicename" command but despite the pool being degraded I didn't receive any notifications in 10min... Where can I check what is wrong ? or where are the logs for this ?

I changed it back to "mail" and tested if I can send emails with a mail command - I can. Still no ZFS emails even failing once more the disk in a ZFS pool.
