Hello,
i have a "discussion" with a colleague.
we need to setup a simple proxmox server.
but he is worried about a change of disk.

so server is HP gen 9 with raid controller.
i would use zfs with 2 ssd in raid1-mirror
he would use integrated controller...

because if one drive fails,
with my solutions (zfs) : we change drive and setup zfs rebuild partition (is only 2 ssd in raid1 so can be bootable)
whit his solution (raid hw) : we change drive and stop. raid rebuild automatically

so , this post is not is better raid hw or zfs...
is not more powerful one or other.....

my simple question is. can i setup a simple proxmox with zfs and setup if a drive fail i change ssd/hdd and zfs rebuild automatically without human intervention/setup software?

thank you in advance

yes, i know it.
i already changed a bootable drive.

ok answer is no.

alternatively (if my friend would use raid hw) can i use proxmox with raid hw and use ext4 as file system?
of course i lost a zfs features...

thank you
