Is there any way to install to a 10 drive ZFS RAIDZ2 from the installer? Right now the limit appears to be 8 drives.

I don't want separate pools nor do I want to lose half the drive space on vdev mirrors by adding the remaining drives after installation.

The only way I can come up with is to
  • install on a smaller amount of disks
  • boot a live linux with ZFS support
  • snapsnot the system and send the installed filesystem to a file on a remote location
  • recreate the pool with all devices and configure booting over all devices
  • receive the installed Proxmox VE installation
  • fix ZFS cache file, zpool stuff and grub
  • reboot
and then you'll hopefully have a working Proxmox VE on 10 devices. You can "test" your environment from the live linux with Qemu.

Thanks for the idea. I will give it a try.
