Would like a little help with VM restore

Pretty rude to blank your post like that. Why not just post your solution instead?
 
I didn't post any solution because the issue was a result of my own stupidity and I think it would not have been helpful to anyone else.

But if you insist, the issue was that in attempting to restore from backups I was hitting "Restore Files" instead of "Restore".
