wipe disk button missing

I have some previously used in another project disks I wish to use with proxmox backup server but I can't figure out how to wipe the disks to be able to setup a datastore.

I'm in the admin > Storage/Disks tab and I don't see a wipe disk button.

I looked at the storage help article

when I try to run the initialize command I get an error that the disk is already in use.

how can I wipe the disks to be able to create a new datastore?

I tried to wipe the disks with fdisk but now it says they are in use with device mapper and not available for datastore creation.

I was able to get the disks to show up as unused by running `wipefs --all --force /dev/sdx` against all of them and then rebooting.

to be clear I still think pbs should have the same wipe disk button that pve has
