Hi,
I have a Ceph PVE 7.1-7 with 3 hosts cluster, with core and backups network on 10Gbps. I need to run for now some old Windows Server 2008 virtual machines, and I'm experiencing very slow speeds on data transfer to and from them. The Storage is SSD. Other machines with 2019 OS have normal speeds, so it quite seems to be drivers on windows 2008, but I cannot figure out what I need to do. I tried VirtIO and Intel E1000 with no changes.

Any help will be very appreciated.

Hi,

I would check if the VirtIO drivers on the Windows Server 2008 VM is the latest version.

Hi Moayad and thank you. I have dificult to understand witch VirtIO iso is the latest supported and working on Windows 2008 STD. I also really beleave that it can be drivers. Do you know how to install the lastest VirtIO on the 2008? Thanks.

Maybe I explained my point wrongly. I have access to that fedora index. My doubt is ti know witch version is the last compatible with windows 2008. Because if you try to run this one (the latest) it returns a compatibility error.

_gabriel thank you for your reply. That's the version I'm currently using for my 2008 VMS. I guess as you also suggest that is the more updated for that OS.

_gabriel copying an iso of 3GB to my 2008 STD vms doesn't go further than 35MBps. While the same copy to a 2019 is 100MBps constant.
