I've seen similar posts to this in the forums but missed the solution somehow.
I'm Running Proxmox 3.2-4 with a Windows 2008 R2 VM. After the VM had been created and was up and running for a while I wanted to give it more RAM. I have about 20GB of physical RAM I'm not using in the machine so I increased the RAM for that server from 5GB to 6GB then restarted the VM. I am not running the virtio drivers and have the RAM set with Fixed Memory Size at 6144.
Once I restarted the VM I go to Windows System Information and it still says the Physical RAM is at 5GB so it's not seeing the increase in RAM. If I look in the Summary for the VM on the Proxmox screen it says the Memory Usage is 5GB with 5.42GB used.
I'm not sure why Proxmox shows the Memory usage at 5GB when I changed it to 6. I assume this is why Windows also sees only 5GB.
Thanks in advance for the help.
