Hello - I posted this here because I assume its a pretty basic question. Linux user, on a Windows 11 machine for... reasons.

I have an ssh server @ my home network that has access to the ProxMox network. Under Linux, I was able to remotely run a command like "ssh -D 8080 myhomenetwork.com", login, and then use a 2nd web browser with a PROXY setup to "localhost:8080", and then just type in "x.x.x.x:8006" (my local home network ProxMox IP) and the ProxMox dashboard would show up, remotely...

In Windows 11, it seems that "ssd -D 8080 myhomenetwork.com" connects like normal - I don't see some of the tunnel output in the terminal that I used to - but it feels like its connected... but then when in Librewolf, with a "localhost:8080" proxy setup, I get "The connection was reset" results. (The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.)

Is Windows 11 blocking me somewhere? Can I set this up to work? I liked it because it allowed me to have access, remotely, only at times when I specified and... I do want it to work on this Win11 machine. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks team ProxMox!

have you checked the windows firewall settings?

does forwarding a single port with -L make any difference?
