Win8 machine that was transferred from VMWare to Proxmox does not start

This is the error i'm getting when I start the machine: 1720438653953.png

For some reason the other virtual machines that i migrated to Proxmox (who were Win10) functioned without a problem, but Win8 seems to have problems

can you please post the actual configuration of the VM? Best would be the output of qm config <vmid> (in codetags!), but you can also post a screenshot of the Hardware section if needed.

I take it / hope you still have the original Windows 8 machine on VMWare?
Have you checked that there are no disk-errors on that system (checkdisk) and/or that bitlocker is not enabled (by booting the machine back on esx)?
And have you already tried re-doing the import, seeing if it just glitched out somewhere?
