Using the QXL driver with SPICE on windows 7 (the xddm QXL driver), produces annoying flickers on parts of the screen.
I can confirm this is the QXL driver because when you uninstall it or use the vmware driver the flicker goes away.
Reading a bit of the source code of the QXL driver leads me to believe it uses a scan method where it only updates parts of the display that changed. The problem with this is it produces flicker, most noticeable when you open Task Manager and look at CPU usage. Each time the CPU usage refreshes, the graphs flicker.
I tried to install (a more modern) QXL WDDM driver on windows 7, but I cant seem to be able to install it. No matter what I do, it just does not recognise the driver as valid.
Currently downloading Win10 to test the WDDM driver if the flicker disappears. But I would really like to get it working on Win7.
