Hey all ;)

i have a host running 2x Intel Xeion E5502 with 16gb of ram. installed with proxmox 4.1-1.
Migrated an old live system running sbs2008, which runs "ok".
So i need to install second guest with Server2012R2 Ess.

But every time i start installation, at about 20% to 40% host Machine is restarting completely.
tried different CPU types, tried different HDD types. All same result.

Any idea?

i have something similar with a windows 10 install on my homelab.
I narrowed it down to my ZFS "raid-1" for my OS (2x 60 GB SSD).
Regardless of the Bus-type, controller-type and caching options used.
If i install on the same drive using e.g. xfs or btrfs it works fine.

Are you by any chance using zfs for the Disks hosting your vDisks ?

will investigate this when i get home, but from that that thread it seems like this is EXACTLY my issue.

Yepp. its exactly my issue. thanks for the "Big Arrow" windinternet.

edit: will go back to non ZFS Raid-1 (only used it for tests anyways - i use ceph normally )

@porli, if you look at the mentioned thread about the swap issue, you will find a command listing to get to a configuration that at least in an emulated server makes it more stable.
