My Proxmox Backup Server datastore shows 100% full, but the visible backup folders (vm and ct) are very small. I discovered there’s a hidden .chunks folder that actually uses most of the space.
Is it normal for .chunks to take up almost all the space, even when the visible backup folders are tiny? Also, after pruning old backups, space isn’t freed until garbage collection (GC) runs (after 24 hours). What should I do if the datastore is full and GC won’t run?
Lastly, if I recreate the datastore with the same name, will all my backups be deleted?
Thanks for any advice or clarification!
