I am installing for the first time proxmox. I have a machine on which I am currently running Macos. That Os is running on a 500 GB nvme ssd. I have then 3 Tb sata HD which I would like to use for backups. I have added a new 1 Tb nvme ssd and two sata 1 Tb ssd which I would like to dedicate to a Zfs pool so to obtain 2 Tb of storage. Now my question is : Where should I install Proxmox so to leave the Macos drive untouched and being able to use the three new ssd for the zfs pool. Can proxmox be installed on one of the drives that will constitute the zfs poo? Should I add another Ssd just install proxmox?

hi,

I have added a new 1 Tb nvme ssd and two sata 1 Tb ssd which I would like to dedicate to a Zfs pool so to obtain 2 Tb of storage. Now my question is : Where should I install Proxmox so to leave the Macos drive untouched and being able to use the three new ssd for the zfs pool.
in the installer you can choose which drives should be utilized for the system.

the best way to ensure that you leave the macos drive untouched would be to actually remove the drive before the installation. you can't mistakenly wipe your disk if your disk isn't there :)

Can proxmox be installed on one of the drives that will constitute the zfs poo?
so yes, you can.
