What does it mean by Subscription?Do I need to purchase license to activate resources

Hi Folks,

I am pretty confused on Proxmox License part and would appreciate if someone can shed some light on it? I believe Proxmox is completely an Open Source application, correct? So what does it mean by Subscription?

Do I need to purchase processor wise license to activate all the resources of my server? Is there any restriction on resources when I install Proxmox 2.2 without subscription.

lets say I have 2 quad core processor with 32 GB of RAM, will I be able to use all the RAM and both processors without any restriction?

You only need a subscription for support from the proxmox team. Other than that, you are all set.

Actually, the more than excellent support given by this forum is also free...
If you want Professional support when using in a high stakes professional capacity, then its wise to purchase support..
For the rest, the excellent ProxMox VE environment is free !
