Weird terminal after migration

Hi all,

I've tried migrating an LXC container from one host to another and everything seems fine until I pct enter the box from the host. I then seem to have a weird terminal issue, with odd characters appearing in top and random stuff on the input line after you close things, here is an example:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
☼ 1 root 20 0 56948 4804 3476 S 0.0 0.1 0:00.17 systemd

☼ 37 root 20 0 46096 6252 5816 S 0.0 0.1 0:00.09 systemd-journal

☼ 72 root 20 0 250144 1996 1604 S 0.0 0.0 0:00.04 rsyslogd

vim is unusable etc.

The only difference I can think between the two hosts is one was directory FS and the new one is ZFS.

The strangest thing is if I ssh directly into the migrated box, or use VNC everything is fine.

Any ideas why this would happen? Sorry if I haven't explained myself properly. I've been unable to search for an answer due to a lack of vocabulary to describe the problem!

Regards

Niki

I've since noticed that the Proxmox 5 ZFS template from OVH I'm using seems to be the problem.

I installed a completely fresh Debian 9 box and have got the same odd Terminal issue when "pct enter"-ing the VPS... So this isn't a migration issue, it's something wrong with the OVH templated build.

I'm just now fully reinstalling the OVH template to see what happens fresh out of the box.

I'll report back

Niki
