Warning about importing a VM from ESXi

Hi,

I am reading thru the ESXi-to-Proxmox migration page https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Migrate_to_Proxmox_VE and came across this warning about live import:

Note: should the import fail, all data written since the start of the import will be lost.

Does it refer to the data written to the Proxmox storage will be lost, not the running source VM on ESXi? It's obvious the target disks will be invalid but I just want to make sure I understand it correctly.

Yes. If the live import process fails for any reason, the partially imported disk on the "Proxmox side" will be invalid and unusable.
