How do you change the keyboard mappings for the VNC console to set UK keyboard layout. Every time I try the command:

qm set vmid --keyboard uk

I get unable to parse value for 'keyboard'

If you use de I don't get this message:

(VMDK) image open: flags=0x2 filename=/var/lib/vz/images/102/pallascon.vmdk

so it must be accepting this

please try the following command to get a list of possible values:

Code:
# ls -l /usr/share/kvm/keymaps/

You can also set the default on the web interface:

Configuration/System/Options

Although currently its only possible to set en-us. I think I should also add en-gb. Is there much difference?

System wide qemu default are stored in /etc/pve/qemu-server.cfg

It was en-gb that was required.

I modified the qemuu-server.config file, although you need to change the language and save in the web console before the file appears. I then needed to restart the server.

Keyboard Differences en-gb and en-us

The differences are that the #@"\ are moved around the keyboard while the £ and € are absent.

The £ and € are perhaps not that important in this environment however I tend to use the £ symbol in windows passwords as most password crackers are written by americans or use us ascii key charsets.
