I am a teacher who provides his students an environment on proxmox, for teaching.
Let it be said that I am not a proxmox specialist.
I have previously worked with proxmox 7.x new I have 8.0.3 I suspect this is the reason why it behaves differently than before but not sure
My situation. I create template VM's which I clone for my students which they can then set up with the attached ISO file.
Each student gets their own pool with their own VM's. I created a user e.g.: User-Pool1 and authorized this user on the pool with PVEAdmin.
Now it is since the reinstallation that the students can't set VLAN ID's anymore because if you want to edit the network interface on the VM you can't see it. I even gave the users "Administrator" but even then it is not visible. But according to the definition an administrator should be able to do everything...? https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/User_Management -> Administrator: has full privileges
I have now found out with various attempts that if I authorize the user for /sdn/zones/localnetwork with PVEAdmin under Datacenter -> Permissions, users can see the interface again.
Now I have two questions.
-> Why did this work before without this additional permission?
-> Is it possible to give this permission to all users at once? Unfortunately I can not give group rights there
for help the boys and me are very thankfull
