VM migration without shared storage

Hi of all,
I have read in the forum that it is possibile to migrate a VM between nodes without shared storage using a synchronization of rsync daemon.

Is it a feature of proxmox product or a feature of KVM/QEMU???

This only works for OpenVZ (vzmigrate feature). KVM VMs needs shared storage for live migration (V1.3 had support for this, but downtimes was too long).
