I have been playing with proxmox and the issue I am seeing is that no matter what I try, i am unable to setup networking that works.
I managed on DHCP to get it working once, but it is now behaving as if the network cable was unplugged (however the proxmox box is remotely accessible)
Proxmox Machine is a AMD Phenom quad core processor with 8GB ram, 250gb Boot Drive 4TB data drive
Proxmox is setup with enp2s0 as the Network Device Active Y AutoStart No VLAN No
vmbr0 Linux Bridge Active Y Autostart Y VLAN No ports/slaves enp2s0 CIDR 192.168.4.227/24 Gateway 192.168.4.15
Proxmox is accessible remotely via the web interface and the SSH login.
VM is Ubuntu
Memory 2GB
Processors 2(1 sockets 2 cores)
Bios Default
Display Default
Machine Default (i440fx)
SCSI controller VirtIO SCSI
Network Device (net0) e1000 bridge=vmbr0, tag=1
The VM route and ifconfig show everything correct however you cannot ping out of the VM at all not even to the host.
pinging the VM ip address works ok.
Everything else gives Destination Host Unreachable.
What is going on and how can i fix it?
