1- if i install OS guest with vmware hdd the install takes about 5 hours to complete and OS go SLOW any idea???
but if i let HDD by default install goes normal

2- wen i install OS server 2012 R2 and i give 1 soket and 4 treaths and let hdd by default wen i finish install and restart the VM alone goes shutdown exactly every 1 hour i dont know why is happening that on syslog dont show anyting else than:

Jun 11 16:42:41 pve ntpd[7668]: Deleting interface #46 tap100i0, fe80::c8af:41ff:fe36:fc37#123, interface stats: received=0, sent=0, dropped=0, active_time=3660 secs

as the log says 1 hour :(

And to record i am using latest and fresh install of proxmox on a: 8 x intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31230 @ 3.20GHz (1 Socket) 16Gb of RAM and 500HDD

Thanks in advance.

You should not use vmware hdd this is only for conversion from an to vmware images.
For speed Raw is good but has no features.
Qcow2 is not so fast but has feature like snapshot, thin provisioning, cloneing.

This is strange! I never saw that on a system!
Do you use virtio for Nic and hdd?
if yes try a older/newer driver!

i think ive found the solution ...

Q: About two weeks ago I installed the Windows Server 2012 R2 Evaluation Edition and now it’s begun shutting down every hour. I’m nowhere near the end of the 180 day evaluation period. Why is this happening and how can I make it stop?
A: The hourly shutdown is happening because the Windows Server 2012 R2 Evaluation Edition isn’t activated. You can activate the system using the slmgr.vbs –ato command. That will fix the problem with the system shutting down every hour.

taked from here: http://windowsitpro.com/blog/windows-server-2012-r2-evaluation-edition-shuts-down-every-hour

thanks in advance
