Hi! Does anyone else feel that it would be highly beneficial to have the comment of the vm backup visible in the tape backup content view?
Currently the situation is such that only the vm id and namespace are available.
For comparison, here is the view from the backup pool which shows the comment:
As you can see, in this instance I can clearly see what vm the backup is from and there is definitely backup from 2 different vm:s here that just happened to share the vmid.
I came across a situation some time ago where I had to go to find a vm from tape that had been deleted from the pbs almost a year ago. Of course I had no clue what the vmid might have been, as those get reused and that is fine with everything else related to backups except for this case when you have to go and dig these dinosaurs of backups back from the tape. I ended up restoring several terabytes of data from tape in this case before finding the correct backup.
I assume the data shown in this content view is related to the metadata stored on tape. The comment sections really do not consume that much space and they actually are stored on the tape and become visible when restoring backups from tape. It would be really nice to be able to see those comments before restoring hundreds of gigabytes of data
I do not think there should be any major technical problems with adding this info to be visible in the ui?
