VLAN trunks in UI

Hello,

I was looking at a way to pass two or more vlans to interface and I came across the "trunks" option to --netX flag. I don't see this configurable via UI, is there a plan to add it there? I don't mind cli, quite the opposite, but sometimes I have to give access to the UI to someone who does not have shell access and can't change it.

Regards

What exactly do you want to do?

Have multiple VLANs on one virtual NIC of a VM or on the physical port?

Hello,

multiple VLAN on the virtual NIC, but strict list of them. For example, physical NIC on the host has VLANS 10,11,12,13. I needed VLANs 10 and 11 passed to the virtual NIC in the VM, but not 12 and 13.

"trunks" option to the interface does this, I was just wondering if this option can be visible via UI.

Edit: Correction, "trunks" as option to qm cli.

Thank you.

I dont know the answer to the question, but I'm curious why you wouldn't just have 2 virtual NICs in the VM, one for each vLAN? Let Proxmox do the trunking and leave the virtual's ports in access mode?

I was just curious about the option. From system administration point of view different untagged NICs in the VM are the best solution, but some commercial firewall vendors have (or used to have) limits in the number of "physical" interface, that's why I asked.

Thanks, I checked and it's 32. I don't have that much now, but it's good to know for the future;)

Gotcha - So you've got an appliance that you potentially need to get more VLANs into than you have [virtualized] physical interfaces.. Makes sense
