Hi,
Im just in the state of testing proxmox and now there is a problem for which I am unable to find a solution myself. My proxmox server has a single nic.
I want to use a vlan capable software router as one of my VMs (vyatta)
So I need to have the switchport of my proxmox server in tagged mode.
Ok, I have a bridge vmbr0 connectet to eth0
I added a second bridge vmbr1 and connectet it to eth0.11 (vlan-id 11)
Now my proxmox web-ui is available from the address given to vmbr1 in vlan11, great
As administrating would be very difficult with the software-router if there must be a single ethernet interface connected to a vmbrx which is connected to a vlan for every vlan, I thought it would be possible to connect the VM's ethernet (virtio) of the software-router to vmbr0 (connected to eth0).
I configured now a eth0.333 inside my virtual router but are unable to ping the address assigned to it from other hosts on the switch assigned to vlan 333.
Here the network config of the router (all other hosts on vlan 333 can ping each other, I am able to ping the proxmox interface on vlan 11 (as mentioned vmbr1 connected to eth0.11)
Just short conclusion: I know its working to add a new network card for the router with a new vmbrX connected to a new vlan but this seems to be very hard to maintain and configure so I just want to have the vlan stuff inside the router VM (all other VMs can directly connect to vmbrX because they need only one vlan each)
Thanks for your work and for this great product!
