Hey All -
I'm setting up a server and plan to have it offsite (colocated) - there will not be a physical LAN.
The server itself is a 2U chassis, with 2 physical network ports - but only one will be used for WAN (Public IP).
During install of Proxmox, I selected one of the two ports, configured a private IP and gateway and setup my first VM which will be OpnSense to autostart at boot. OpnSense is working fine and pulled down the public IP no problem and I can access it as intended.
However, now I cannot access the Proxmox management IP. I setup an OpenVPN server on Opnsense cand can connect to it fine. How do I get Proxmox to see OpenSense and vice vera? I want to be able to access Proxmox from this connection and be able to configure other VMs to use the same virtual LAN network.
Thanks
TLDR: In a virtual LAN configuration where the physical NIC is passed to a VM that auto boots, how do you restore connectivity to Proxmox so that the VM running can see Proxmox? The two physical adapters previously used during install would no longer be present as they were passed to a VM.
Thanks
