Just came across the VirtualGL project: https://www.virtualgl.org

Has anyone here tried it out with Proxmox based VMs? ie through VNC or it's similar client software

Am kind of wondering if it works well, and if there might be a way of integrating that (ie programming likely) with SPICE or similar.

Anyone have ideas? :)

Just yesterday I setup a Mint 22 VM and passed through a Radeon GPU. I'm using thinlinc to connect to it and enabled VirtualGL on the VM. The client works really well although I'm still figuring a few things out.

I realise this is not using the built in Virtual GL display in Proxmox but I was just trying it out. AFAIK setting the display the VirtualGL requires (please correct me) use of the SPICE client which isn't able to take advantage of acceleration which is why I tried the above.

I'm using this as a "work PC" to help to separate my work and private computing

Hope this helps
