I have just managed to get multipath working for my VM storage, which works well. I do not wish to fiddle with the physical NIC or invade the VLANS that the pair are using. but i have my PBS on a different server, which has both 1G NIC for the virtual machines and 2 SFP+ with 10G fibre for the multipath - I have several large media stores I want to back up, and it is taking quite a long time over the 1G side of things which is the legitimate route for the PBS.
So, I had two thoughts about speeding things up: Is it possible to use multipath to the PBS data store so the backups will go over the 10G side of the network without upsetting the current multipath by making the PBS a target somehow?
OR
Can i create two virtual NICs on the two iscsi hardware NIC and put them on their own VLAN to talk to the PMS over the 10G network?
OR
Should i just have a cup of tea and accept that it is going to be slow?
