Okay, i have been trying to find a fix for this for roughly 2 weeks, and no AI in this world will give the correct answer.
I have proxmox 9.1.2 and running many VMs on it. I have the same problem with everyone of them:
1. If i remote-view from windows 11 desktop, the SPICE option works well and the display is okay.
2. But most of the time, i work from a Debian Trixie workstation (Using wayland KDE) and the VM is awfully scaled down.
-> Only work around i have is uncheck the "Auto-resize" checkbox in remote-viewer, and do about 10time 'Zoom in' menu (if at least there was a keyboard shortcut for this)
3. Yes i kow i comitted the death-penalty crime of putting my display scaling to 125% because 4K display on 32" is too small for my old eyes.
-> I also know putting this to 100% will fix the issue but it is not a viable option...
There are alot of suggestions around going from installing guest tools for spice agent in the VM itself to write a 'wrapper script' on the host side to trick virt-viewer to use x11 as GDK_BACKEND but this doesn't work. It always end up in virt-viewer complaining it cannot open the URI none so basically breaking the functionalityé
I need SPICE connectivity because i am going to copy/paste to these VM all the time.
NO-VNC works well under 125% scaling always correctly scaled the VM, but it seems to be a whole other story for virt-viewer, unfortunatly.
And this code doesn't seem to be maintained anymore.
I am trying to poll this forum because nowdays 4k monitors are a thing, i can't believe nobody has a solution on this yet.
Thanxs for any help
