Hi, I'm new to proxmox and the forum, and was hoping to get a little help.

I've been able to fumble my way through most things to get proxmox set up and now that it's (mostly) running as I need, I'm a little hesitant on making the next move.

I'm running proxmox as a media server (plex, navidrome, torrent client....) with a VM of truenas scale, and the only thing I'm using truenas for at this point is a SMB share hosting the media folders. Truenas is incredibly resource heavy to only be serving this simple purpose, and I know I can just mount the drives in proxmox and reclaim the resources from truenas.

I'm not really sure how to do this without risking losing all of the data.

I think in truenas, I select "Storage", then the appropriate pool, and since I want to preserve the data, only confirm export.

I don't know where to go from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

You can import an exported pool with zpool import YourPooName. The hard part is the SMB server, as PVE got no NAS functionalities. So you would need to install and setup the SMB server on your own using the CLI.
