Hi guys, I have a problem and I really don't know where it is.
I have an Ubuntu server VM, "discard on", I ran fstrim. The backup of this VM is 140 GB, but it has an external hard drive that I built that contains 80 GB of files and I need to leave it activated. If the backup is copying the external hard drive together, can I change the script to not copy the / mnt folder? In fact, I removed the hard drive and backed it up and the size was the same, but I don't know what it could be.
Then, restart the VM and do not load the system anymore due to the lack of external hard drive, mount it on fstab.

So if you ran the backup with the external harddrive disconnected and the backup size is exactly the same than if it was connected.... then that means your external harddrive is not being backed up, ergo you should be fine. The proxmox backup does not traverse directory paths, it creates a backup from a virtual harddrive / blockdevice that is configured for the VM. Your external harddrive has nothing to do with this, if it is just being mounted inside the VM.

Okay, so how can I do to reduce this size ?, Since ubuntu uses only 3.5gb and I only have apache installed on it, but the backup is 125gb
