Hi,

I want to install the proxmox ve on a dell poweredge T105, but no luck ;-(
The CDROM boots, but after some time I get a boot screen with:
...
testing cdrom /dev/sr0
mount: mounting /dev/sr0 on /mnt failed: Invalid argument
umont: can't umount /mnt: Invalid argument
....
This message is repeated a few times and ends with
no cdrom found - unable to continue (type exit ot CTRL-D to reboot)

;-( Any ideas how can I boot on this server. It seems a problem with the SATA CDROM drive. Are there any boot options to try?

Thanks for the help,

Marcel

hmm, well we have only this one server here, no external CDROM drive available ;-(

Ok, I will retry proxmox when using a more recent kernel to support actual hardware.

Thanks,
Marcel

I have the same server, the DVD drive does not work with proxmox. I used a external CDROM to load the software.

At the moment I want to install 1.3 on a brand new server.

after booting from cd the installation stops...
"no cdrom found - unable to continue"

mainboard has no ide on board just sata, so i cannot use a
another cdrom device from another server.

And there is no other external usb cdrom available here.

I gues i can leave the datacenter? Or is there a workaround?

I'm having the same problem with both 1.3 and 1.4b2 on a system with a Nvidia SATA chipset.

As a work-around I just installed Debian, and added the proxmox packages.
