Using a HDD Power Switch

Hi All

Longtime reader, first time poster.

I am tinkering with the idea to combine all my NAS machines under one roof and just have a single ProxMox Server that will virtualise two NAS OSes.

My everyday media NAS I plan to use OpenMediaVault in a VM (hoping this works fine in a VM).
This will generally be running 24/7 and serve as daily backups for desktops/laptops along with serving media and files.

Then I will have a backup NAS (not sure which NAS OS yet - maybe TrueNas Scale) I wish to only turn on as needed to backup the above NAS.

I understand the single point of failure nature etc above having it all in one machine - I do have spare server kit in case of failure.
Also do have an offsite backup plan in motion with one of the current NAS's that I will take to my parents place and utilise it for this purpose.

So with all that in mind, I had been looking at these HDD Power Switches: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09GMKQPWW (not set on any one - just need 6 ports/switches)
Or similar and my idea would be with the Backup NAS OS, is to Power down the VM when finished backups and then utilise the above HDD Power Switch to turn off the drives.

What I want to know is will ProxMox have a hissy fit when I plan to turn off the HDDs with the powerswitch. Is there some type of best practice I would need to follow to ensure no issue.

Thanks all
