Hi guys,
first of all: I am not sure, what to search for, so sorry, if this (and I guess it is the case) topic was there already - so this thread is about to find some hints and keywords for my issue here..
Whats the thing?:
I have Proxmox running on a Workstation-Notebook - thats fine since the Hardware was already there and since it is a Business-Notebook, I can tell the Battery to not go over 75% - So I have a "free" UPS here.
I bought an 2.5GbE USB Adapter and plugged it in, configured everything (new Linux-Bridge to that new Interface). Everything runs fine....... until..
A few hours, everything is good, but then the machine is not reachable. Doing a reboot and looking to the logs, I see "Jan 02 16:24:07 pve kernel: vmbr25gbe: port 10(fwpr400p0) entered blocking state".
What I understand is, that: when this bridge (?) is in blocking state, it will not forward any package anymore. So in fact, the interface (or bridge?) is then offline.
Question: until when or what happens?
I guess this is coming from a very short disconnect (and reconnect) of the USB NIC, since I did not had the issue in 2 years running the onboard 1gig-NIC, but hat this now with 3 different external (I cannot use something else, since it is a laptop) NICs.
If this is the case: why is this USB device disconnected? Is it maybe because of some energysaving stuff? (I do have a script in place, which shuts off the Laptop-Screen after some minutes, so that the backlight does not run all the time).
I hope you have some hints for me here finding a solution to use 2.5GbE on that HP Elitebook..
Thanks!! (and sorry for having this issue now maybe twice)
