i've managed to passthrough a USB hdd to my W2k3 server so that i can copy some data to it to move offsite - it had some old data on it so i tried to format it using a quick format, its now refusing to let me format it. I'm assuming that to sort this i will need to format the drive through the proxmox box instead.
I used this forum post to add the drive:
http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/5310-share-usb-harddrive-to-kvm?
i've read online about installing ntfsprogs: http://superuser.com/questions/223965/how-to-format-ntfs-partition-in-debian
has anyone else come across this issue?
--Edit--
i had assigned the wrong drive - the USB drive had a load of small partitions already configured.
used sdc instead of sdc1
ide1: /dev/sdc
