Hi all,

We have a small retail store with 3 x old Windows computers and we would like to change to 1 x PROXMOX server with 1 Windows VM and convert these 3 x old Windows to 3 x thin clients.

The first computer has a USB cash drawer that we would need to connect to PROXMOX Server (I guess USB over ethernet?)

The other option is putting the server next to the cash drawer or even replace the 1st thin computer with the server, then using the server directly with the second HDMI. But I am not confortable having the server with cash workers.

Could you please help us with some ideas? Having USB over ethernet seems to be the best option but I am not sure how to achieve it.

Many thanks for your recommendations,
BR

putting the server next to the cash drawer
it's the straightforward solution because usb can be easily passthrough to a vm.
but what about the Windows VM ?
Server but how the software will manage the cash drawer if it's the same VM ?
or one Windows VM per thin client ? To allow the cash drawer works straightforward.

the software it's installed only in 1 Windows VM, which is connected to the Cash Drawer (via ethernet-USB) but only one of each 3 thin clients, can connect at the same time to 1 Windows VM. Is that what you meant?

Thank you
