Hi.

One useful thing running servers is UPS controlled shutdown in case of power failure.
Does ProxmoxVE have that feature?
Can it shutdown virtual machines or must we configure each one of them to shutdown separately?
Can we even have several virtual machines (I'm planning to use Ubuntu JeOS) connected to one UPS over one USB port?

I think theese questions are quite generic in nature and for everyday use so if someone can help....

Thanx and BR,

Sinisa

apcupsd is in the debian repos and handles monitoring a UPS and automatically shutting down. It also has a network client (which also runs in windows) that will shutdown clients when the (apcupsd) server notices the batteries draining. This client could be used in VMs but I'm not sure it's necessary. Just make sure you give PVE enough time to shutdown (including the time to shutdown VMs) and everything should be fine.

No web interface, but apcupsd configuration is pretty straightforward. Most importantly make sure you have a supported UPS.

Thank you very much for this. I was aware of the utility but not sure how that works on this "bare metal" thingy.

Anyhow, thanx again.
