Hello Admins,

we have running two proxmoxe nodes in "cluster" configuration / just with internal storage at both nodes..
we run following version on both machines:

debian
root@prox1:~# cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.32-23-pve (root@lola) (gcc version 4.7.2 (Debian 4.7.2-5) ) #1 SMP Tue Aug 6 07:04:06 CEST 2013

- pveversion
pve-manager/3.1-3/dc0e9b0e (running kernel: 2.6.32-23-pve)

we now would like to update to the latest version:

in which order should be updaded ?
what should we check after update?
is a reboot of vm / host system needed ? (Important!)

for any help, info to update links / turtorials would be nice.

regards tempes

This Proxmox Wiki should suffice dor upgrade documentation: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Downlo...Proxmox_Virtual_Environment_3.x_to_latest_3.2

Since you are doing upgrade from 3.1, there are really no additional steps to upgrade to latest 3.2.

As far as Reboot, I do believe you will need a hard reboot upgrading from 3.1 to 3.2. General rule of thumb if you need update or not, after every upgrade/update if a reboot is required you will see message such as "There has been a Kernel update, a reboot is required......" or something like that. If Proxmox developer telling you to reboot, it is really wise to do so. Non reboot requiring updates usually dont show this msg.
