Upgrading a Proxmox cluster from 7 to 9 by replacing nodes.

Good afternoon!
Is it possible to migrate a Proxmox cluster from version 7 to version 9 by adding Proxmox 9 nodes to the Proxmox 7 cluster, migrating all virtual machines, and removing the Proxmox 7 nodes?

An external Ceph 16 cluster is used as storage.

It should be possible (if all nodes are updated to the latest PVE 7.4.x) by first adding PVE 8.4 nodes until everything is updated to the latest PVE 8.4.x and then you can add PVE 9 nodes. Skipping the latest PVE 8.4 is NOT guaranteed to work and might cause problems. Maybe starting a new PVE 9 cluster and remote-migrating or backup/restoring your VM/CTs will be less work?
