Hi All,

I have a cluster of 4 nodes with Proxmox 7.4-18 and Ceph Pacific v.16.2.7. This weekend I would like to upgrade Proxmox to the latest version 8.2 and Ceph to Reef(the latest version). My Ceph Cluster is made of 2 pool, consisting of 5xSSD and 5xHDD to each nodes and several virtual machine stored on.

The questions are as follows:
- in what order do you recommend proceeding with the updates? all PVE nodes first and then CEPH? Is it necessary to first bring the PVE cluster to the latest version of build 7 and then update it to 8?
- is it recommended to switch directly from the Ceph Pacific version to Reef? or is it preferable to gradually move from Pacific to Quincy and then to Reef?

-if I wanted to make a backup of the "nodes" and ceph settings before these updates, which folders should I save?

Important: I don't have the possibility to shutdown/reboot all the nodes at the same time.

Thank you!
