Unable to link failover IP to VM (online.net)

Hi guys,
thanks in advance to whoever tries to help me

I have a proxmox host on Dedibox (online.net)
and I ordered an additional failover IP
I wish to assign it to a VM
so that the VM has a public IP, different from the host.
I've tried everything, and unable to make it happen.

can someone guide me in the right direction?

I currently have vmbr0 (the iface which has the public ip on the host) bridged to the VM, with the MAC address set to the virtual mac address assigned to the failover ip.
